Thousands turn up downtown for local March for Our Lives demonstration

An estimated 2,000 people headed to downtown Chico Saturday morning (March 24) for the March for Our Lives. The demonstration included a march around the city center and concluded with poignant speeches by local youth and other activists at City Plaza. Local high school students organized it as a sister event to one in Washington D.C., during which survivors of the recent shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla., addressed the nation on issues of gun violence and school safety.
