“New grass” musician and master mandolin player Sam Bush plays Chico State’s Laxson Auditorium next weekend. Bush has performed with a wide variety of musicians recently, from Emmylou Harris to Bela Fleck, and has headlined music festivals across the country, including Telluride and Strawberry. Bush is said to have expanded the frontiers of modern bluegrass music by drawing on such diverse influences as gospel, pop, reggae, jazz and more.
