A look at the growing phenomenon of home-based businesses in Chico and elsewhere

This year, for our annual Business & Entrepreneurs issue, the CN&R is taking a look at the growing phenomenon of people working out of their homes. It’s happening in Chico and Butte County just as it’s happening all over the country. As Josh Indar notes in his story on this page, home-based businesses make up a surprisingly large part of the total number of businesses in the United States, and that percentage is rapidly increasing. His story examines this remarkable change in the American business community, and the stories that follow it profile four different Chico-area businesses that operate out of their owners’ homes.
