Fifty ways to cut loose, explore and get connected to your new home

Fifty ways to cut loose, explore and get connected to your new home

Welcome to Chico, new students! (And returning students, welcome back. And townies, what's up?!) What you have in your hands is the Chico News & Review's annual intro to Chico. It's geared toward college students, but we hope it offers a little something for everyone. This year, we've come up with a list of 50 ways to get plugged into the fun, food, community and natural environs of our little Nor Cal oasis. Some of our tips are obvious big attractions—farmers' markets, Bidwell Mansion, floating down the river—but they're absolutely essential to getting the full Chico experience. Others are off the beaten path, small gems that are no less vital to Chico's personality (have you tried on a cheese skirt yet?).

Remember, this guide is just an introduction. There are many more ways to “go Chico,” and as the school year progresses, make a habit of picking up the free Chico News & Review every Thursday to stay on top of all the rest of the music, news, arts and fun happening in town.
