Game on, politicos

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (pictured) gave Democrats something else to wrangle over last week, when she launched a competition between delegations aimed at making the upcoming Democratic Convention the greenest in history.

Organized by the California Democrat and convention organizers, the so-called “Green Delegate Challenge” asks delegations to offset the carbon footprints resulting from their thousands of miles (in many cases) of travel to attend the national convention this August in Denver.

Aside from cleansing themselves of their eco-sins, the delegates will get major props at the nominating get-together. According to The Washington Post, better seating sections and eco-friendly prizes are at stake. In addition, individual delegates can earn green items—to show off during the event—by offsetting travel. Results of the contest will be available at DemConvention.com.
