Enloe nurses’ new chief

Enloe Medical Center announced this week that it has a new vice president of nursing services. She’s Connie Rowe (pictured), and she’s been serving in the position on an interim basis since June 2007. According to a press release, she is responsible for “all aspects of nursing practice, policies, procedures and quality” at the center.

Rowe worked in several roles at Enloe from 1984-99, left for several years and returned in 2005. In her interim tenure as head of nursing, she has focused on improving nurses’ communication among departments on such issues as patient flow through the hospital, hospital census and staffing levels. She has also worked on implementing the new Planetree approach to patient care.

“Connie brings strong nursing skill and knowledge, a patient care focus and natural leadership ability,” said Mike Wiltermood, the hospital’s chief operating officer.
