Bigger league in the works

Golden Baseball League joins partnership for new, bigger league

The Golden Baseball League is joining forces with other organizations to create a new, pro independent league called the North American League.

The goal of the partnership between GBL, the Northern League and the United League is to build 16 to 20 teams composed of the players from the leagues’ existing teams, including the Chico Outlaws, in multiple countries and covering the major U.S. and Canadian markets. This, according to GBL, will form the largest professional league outside of Major League Baseball in terms of number of teams and geographies.

Teams will play 75 percent of their games in their respective regions, followed by a North American Championship Series.
