Two homeless people arrested in Wisconsin for Butte County murder

Sheriff’s detectives recently arrested two homeless people suspected in the killing of Angela Marie Murray, a homeless woman who lived in Oroville. The suspects, William Henry Smith Jr., 46, and Julie Lynn Moss, 54, were arrested in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., on Sunday (Dec. 20).

Murray was found dead on the 600 block of Dunstone Drive near Oroville on Nov. 14, according to a Butte County Sheriff’s Office press release. Detectives received information that pointed them to Smith and Moss in connection with Murray’s death, then learned that the pair had left the area shortly after Murray was last seen alive.

Before facing charges in California, Smith and Moss are being held without bail awaiting an extradition hearing in Wisconsin.
